Capture
Chrome extension
The Chrome extension is the same capture flow as the website, opened beside the posting you are already on.
It is a side panel. Sign in on www.applicairn.com in that browser first. The extension reads that session; it does not have its own password screen.
Install
- Open
chrome://extensions. - Turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Load unpacked and select the production build of the extension (
dist/prod/chrome-mv3if you built or downloaded it). - Pin Applicairn, then open the side panel on a job posting.
- Confirm the panel says you are signed in. If it does not, sign in on the website and reopen the panel.
Dev and production are different extensions
The dev build talks to the dev site and uses a yellow icon. The production build talks to www.applicairn.com. Sign in on the matching site. Loading both is fine; using the dev icon while you are only signed in on production is not.
Save the posting
On a job page the panel can:
- Read the current tab.
- Fetch and parse it the same way Add an application does on the site.
- Show a review step for company, role, location, salary, and links.
- Warn you when the URL matches an application you already saved.
- Save the job into your account.
When the tab is an application form for a job you already track, the panel can match that job and show the questions it extracted, so you can work through them without leaving the form.
While you fill out the form
Quick Copy in the panel is the same list as on the website: labels and values you click to copy. Your forwarding address is included and cannot be removed.
Form backup is optional. The first time you turn it on, Chrome asks for permission to read the page. While it is on, answers you type can be kept locally so a refresh does not wipe the form. You can turn it off again in the panel.
On supported job boards the panel can also watch the page while you apply. That watch is what lets Applicairn notice the form and, when you submit, record that the submission happened. If the panel says site access is required, grant it for that host and try again. Internal browser pages and other non-posting tabs are skipped.
After you save
The new application is on your dashboard immediately. Open it on the website to attach a resume, set priority, or edit a field the parser missed. The snapshot taken during capture is described in Archived postings.
